Austin, Texas Wedding at The Austin Zen Center
Melissa and Tim had a beautiful and peaceful wedding ceremony at The Austin Zen Center in Austin, TX. I’m so happy that I got the opportunity to head back to Austin to photograph this lovely couple. It was a great trip, filled with tons of shooting, and catching up with my old professors, colleagues, and friends. As many of you know, I went to school for photography in Austin and I love to go back every chance I get, which isn’t as often as I’d like these days with my studio in Durango, CO being so busy. Therefore, I jumped at the chance when my former colleague and friend Melissa asked me to photograph her wedding. Melissa is an incredible food photographer in Austin and it has been so fun watching her talent grow over the years since we both graduated. She is doing amazing things! I was also very excited to meet her little boy Jack who was an adorable addition to their wedding party. Jack made a very cute “ring bearer”! I also got the chance to photograph my first buddhist wedding. It was a very cool experience and I really loved seeing all the traditions, respect, kindness and generosity that these people bring forth. Melissa and Tim then had a mellow reception at Texas French Bread, and they provided a beautifully serene and intimate location with incredible food and atmosphere. Melissa’s very talented friend created the flowers and decorations. The apples, twigs, blossoms, and rocks were such a great match for the couple’s style! The cakes were done by Upper Crust Bakery and Capital City Bakery and they were so moist and delicious. Congratulations to Melissa and Tim and thanks for having me as your photographer!
