I haven’t used Pinterest much but have recently started to become familiar with the site as I build up portrait session idea boards for my clients. Today I created a Fall Family Portrait Session Outfit Idea board with some choice pictures of outfit combinations that I’ve re-pinned from other boards. I love all the orange, brown, deep blue, green and light earthy tones that go so well with fall. Of course, boots and scarves are some of my favorite accessories so fall is one of my most favorite times of the year to shoot! If you are trying to prepare for your family portrait session keep these ideas in mind as you choose your outfits.
Tips on Choosing Your Outfits:
1. Remember, you don’t all have to wear exactly the same colors, in fact it looks best if you don’t. Choose colors in the same “family” such as dark blues and browns, or tan and orange.
2. Also, try to pick patterns that are simple and don’t clash with one another. For example, if one person will be wearing a plaid button up, don’t put someone else in polka dots. Or, if you wear horizontal stripes don’t put vertical stripes on your husband.
I hope these tips help you as you prepare for your fall family portrait session with Kelly Miranda Photography. Durango, Colorado is such a beautiful location for portraits and I’m truly looking forward to photographing all the lovely families this season.
